Privacy Policy
Your privacy is our highest priority. Learn how TapTools handles and secures your data.
Important Privacy Principle: TapTools is built on a "local-first" serverless architecture. All file manipulation, utility computations, and code transformations happen entirely inside your web browser. Your private documents and credentials never touch our servers.
1. Serverless Document Processing
Unlike traditional online file converters that require you to upload documents to external databases, TapTools processes files directly within your device's memory. When you merge, edit, compress, or convert files (including PDFs and images):
- No files are transmitted to or stored on our servers.
- All processing operations are executed locally using client-side JavaScript, WebAssembly, and HTML5 canvas APIs.
- Once you close the browser window or refresh the page, all loaded document buffers are permanently cleared from your device's temporary memory.
2. Information We Collect
We believe in collecting only the absolute minimum amount of information required to deliver a functional, reliable experience:
- Personal Data: We do not ask you to register an account or provide personal details (such as names, phone numbers, or addresses) to use our utility tools.
- Analytical Data: We collect anonymous browser statistics (such as page views, referrer links, and tool invocation count) to monitor website performance and optimize tool speeds. This metadata does not contain document names or file contents.
- Technical Logs: Our hosting servers log standard connection details (IP address, user-agent string, page request times) for website security and diagnostics.
3. Local Storage and Preferences
To provide a customized experience, we use browser storage mechanisms (such as localStorage) to save your interface preferences. For example:
- Your selected theme configuration (Dark Mode or Light Mode preference).
- Recent tools you have frequently visited for quick-navigation menus.
This data resides exclusively on your local device. You can clear this preference data at any time by clearing your browser's site cookies and local storage.
4. Use of Third-Party CDNs
To maintain fast load speeds and support complex client-side tasks, we load certain open-source library binaries (such as PDF.js rendering assets) directly from public Content Delivery Networks (CDNs) including Cloudflare and cdnjs.
These CDNs may collect standard web traffic metadata to serve these assets efficiently. Their operations are covered by their respective privacy agreements.
5. Third-Party Advertising & Google Cookies
We work with third-party advertising vendors, including Google AdSense, to serve advertisements on TapTools.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites on the Internet.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve relevant advertisements to users based on their visits to TapTools and/or other sites across the Internet.
- Users may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings. Alternatively, you can opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting aboutads.info.
6. Zero Server Upload & Data Isolation Guarantee
We enforce strict architectural separation between web assets and document data. Your input payloads (PDF files, images, spreadsheets, and cryptographically hashed passwords) are processed in memory inside isolated browser sandboxes. No file data, temporary image rasters, or form entries are ever transmitted across external networks or persisted to remote disk storage.
7. Browser Memory Lifecycle & Data Clearing
Document data loaded into TapTools exists for the duration of your active browser session. When you click clear, reset a form, navigate to another page, or close your browser tab:
- TapTools releases its internal JavaScript object references and temporary canvas elements created during processing.
- Active form states and UI component buffers managed by our application are reset.
- Local browser state preferences (such as your chosen UI theme) can be reset at any time by clearing your browser cookies and site storage.
8. User Control & Data Rights
While TapTools does not require user registration or store file content payloads on remote servers, standard web connection logs and anonymous traffic analytics (including IP addresses, user-agent strings, page views, and referrer links) are processed by hosting infrastructure as outlined in Section 2. For locally cached session data, clearing your browser storage wipes all client-stored preferences instantly.
